FAQ

Can I stay at Camp Albemarle as an individual, or part of a group?

Unfortunately with the volume of our current programming, we do not offer outside groups to rent our facilities. As we grow and expand, we may reevaluate this decision.

Can I bring my pet with me to events held at Camp Albemarle or for camper pickup?

Unfortunately, with the exception of service animals, our insurance carrier does not allow us to welcome pets by users of the facility.

Can I bring my RV and stay on the property?

We do not have hook ups for Trailer or RV Camping. We will be happy to recommend nearby campgrounds that accommodate RVs.

Do the cabins have air conditioning and heat?

The cabins do not have air conditioning. We are generally able to take advantage of a cooling breeze off of the sound, and there are ceiling fans in each cabin. If you are coming during a particularly hot time of the year, we recommend that folks bring electric clip on fans that can be easily attached to the bunk. The McElmon Lodge is air conditioned. All of the sleeping areas, the bathhouse, and the dining hall have heat for your comfort during the winter months.

Can I hold my wedding at Camp Albemarle?

While not typically done, we do have occasional weddings at Camp Albemarle. We require you to book the facility for the entire weekend, even if you only intend to hold the ceremony at camp. You may wish to have out of town guests stay at the McElmon Lodge or hold your reception under our pavilion. We are not able to provide additional tables, chairs, linens, etc. for your event, but will be happy to put you in touch with caterers, and nearby rental places.

How about alcohol use?

As we primarily serve children and youth, the use of alcohol is prohibited on Camp property.

Is smoking allowed?

Camp Albemarle is a smoke free facility and no smoking is allowed in any of the buildings or at any program areas. Please ask your host about the areas designated for smoking on the property.
