Alby After School FAQ

Do you stay outside in cold weather?

Yes, unless there is inclement weather students will be outside. We encourage students to wear layers and will have a camp fire for student to stay warm.

 

What indoor space is available during inclement weather?

Our dining hall is available for inclement weather such as thunder and lightning, tornado watches or warnings, high winds that cause flying debris, and conditions that could result in children becoming overheated or excessively chilled.

 

What should my child bring to after school?

All students must have weather-appropriate clothing each day. Layers and rain gear are very important! Students may leave a backpack with a change of clothes based on the season.

 

Do you accept Preschool students?

Our program is for students Knd through 5th grade and are not currently accepting preschool student at this time.

 

What is the daily schedule?

3pm - 3:15pm: School pick up

3:15pm - 3:30pm: Free play

3:30pm - 4pm: Devotional Time

4pm - 5pm: Homework

5pm - 6pm: Main Activites

 

What devotional material does after school use?

Knd through 2nd grade student read through "The Kingdom of God Storybook Bible" by Lithos Kids. Other devotional books we use are "The Parables of Jesus" by Lithos Kids and "Little Pilgrims Big Journey" by Lithos Kids.

3rd through 5th grade students work through "Foundation for Kids: New Testemant" by Robby Gallaty

Older students also work through a version of Wesminister Childrens Catechism.

Does after school provide snack?

After School provides a two componant snack. Students may recieve a mix of fruit, grain, dairy, or veggie.

 

Are after school staff members CPR and First Aid Certified?

All teachers are CPR and First Aid certified. Certain staff members are also lifeguard certified.

 

Can you accommodate children with special needs?

We will accommodate any child that we believe we can safely meet his/her needs. We do not have staff available to work with children that need one-on-one assistance.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes, there is a sibling discount, active military discount, and foster family discount.
